Hannah and Joe's Backyard Wedding in King, NC - Charlotte Wedding Photographer

030BackyardWedding.jpg

Joe and Hannah met while working at a retirement community in Ft. Myers, FL.
While the two were initially just friends, a conversation with Hannah’s grandmother proved to be the encouragement she needed to take the big leap, and the two have been inseparable ever since.

Inspired by a love for fairytales, Joe and Hannah wanted their celebration to be full of
whimsical touches that incorporated their fun personalities. From paper umbrellas at the ceremony to the wheelbarrow full of seed packet favors down to the table of cakes especially designed for the occasion, each detail was chosen
to put a smile on every guest’s face.

Being able to share their special day with all of their closest family and friends was truly more than
Hannah and Joe could have asked for. They fondly remember feeling like two of the luckiest people in the world on their wedding day simply because they were surrounded by their favorite people.

Elizabeth And Eli's Wedding at The Lofts at Union Square High Point NC - Charlotte Wedding Photographer

For Eli and Elizabeth, faith and love are the foundation of their relationship. Having met in 2010 at church in Boone, North Carolina, the two ran in different circles, exchanging polite “hello’s” at worship team practice or on their university’s campus. After sharing some candy in the library and “accidentally” bumping into each other, Eli asked Elizabeth to go on a hike. Elizabeth accepted, eventually leading to a second date at a restaurant called Proper. Wanting to make sure the restaurant was “proper” enough to take Elizabeth, Eli visited the space before their date to scope things out. The two continued dating for three years before Eli took Elizabeth back to Proper and then asked her hand in marriage at their favorite outdoor spot in Boone.

In an attempt to give the wedding their own unique feel, the couple had several DIY touches. The 250 handmade white paper flowers and the favors were all made by Eli’s mother. The bride's veil, headpiece, and dress details was all made from Elizabeth’s grandmother's wedding gown and a piece of Elizabeth’s mother’s dress was sewn onto her own with their initials.

The couple also had a unique “White Room” with a shadow box from their trip to India, photos of important life events, and other personalized décor. The sitting area by the coffee bar had a pew from the bride’s mother’s church, incorporating their faith further. Ample amounts of greenery, white décor with hints of pale blush, teacups and vintage tea party pieces, and family portraits created a welcome space for guests. The music was a mix of both American and Lebanese dance music, providing a fun blend of both Elizabeth and Eli’s cultures.

Elizabeth offers up some helpful advice for couples preparing their wedding, saying that high-quality photography is well worth the investment. “The day truly is a blur, so you’ll want to see good photos!” Elizabeth adds that “when you get stressed out, take a moment to be thankful. Your fiancé, loved ones, and everyone helping you prepare are the most important part of the process and you want the experience to be positive. It’s all going to come together.”
