The force was strong between Star-Wars-loving couple Jessica and Chris. Having met while boarding a plane, Jessica had boarded the flight and sat in the wrong seat, which happened to belong to Chris. The two made a bargain and settled on who would get the coveted window seat and, after complimenting each other’s brightly-hued running shoes, the two talked and laughed the entire flight. Six weeks later, Chris proposed to Jessica in Star Wars’ famous Muir Woods.
Taking place at the beautiful Biltmore Estate, the couple created a fusion between Chris’ love of Star Wars, and Jessica’s desire for a fairytale princess celebration. The pair made the day very much their own, integrating life-size blow-up Storm Trooper balloons, walking down the aisle to the Star Wars theme song played by a classical trio. Jessica incorporated her desire for the princess effect by wearing a tiara at the reception and including lots of pink details. The seating chart was designed by the couple on iPads with the Star Wars introduction rolling-scroll theme. Guests watched a video including their name and table number, and it ended up being a hit. Fireworks during the cocktail hour added a spark of excitement and added romance to the special day.
Jessica offers up some helpful advice for couples to keep in mind while planning their wedding, saying “Make sure to allow yourself to have fun during the process, and don’t be afraid to throw in your own details. It’s your event after all, so it should reflect your individual tastes.”
