Brynn and Austin's Destination Wedding at McGuire’s Millrace Farm

Charlotte locals, Brynn and Austin were on a trip to visit his brother in Florida when he surprised Brynn with an outing to an elephant sanctuary. She absolutely loves elephants, and was overjoyed when they told her she could sit on the elephant and take a photo. As Austin began taking photos, he started walking closer towards her and then got down on one knee. Brynn said, “It was definitely the ultimate surprise.”

Once the couple found McGuire’s Millrace Farm they wanted the entire day to be inspired by the gorgeous landscape. They knew they had to have their ceremony under the river birch trees from the minute they saw it. To enhance the space even further the couple worked together to create the wooden signs for the ceremony and escort card display. Brynn’s family created the paper carnation backdrop that added the perfect amount of pink to the luscious green space. The DIY-ing continued into the reception with table runners made by Austin’s mom and vases filled with wine corks and tea lights.

Brynn and Austin give this sage advice to couples embarking on planning a wedding, “Enjoy the day and your significant other and don’t let the small things ruin such a big day and moment for you. Just enjoy the company of your husband/wife and if something does go wrong, in the grand scheme of things it won’t matter afterwards. As long as you are married to the love of your life, that’s all that matters.“

Christine and Samir's Wedding at Swan House in Atlanta, Georgia

On a day Christine thought she was attending a business meeting with a friend, Samir surprised her with the proposal of a lifetime. A private rooftop dinner overlooking Times Square, an impromptu party with friends and co-workers downtown, and best of all, a trip to Atlanta where, instead of a housewarming party for Christine’s parents (which she thought was the purpose of the trip), an engagement party with both sides of the family who had flown in from all over.

The inspiration behind this couple’s luxurious celebration was the coming together of their two cultures- Persian and Indian. From the venue to the color scheme, Christine and Samir wanted to blend their cultures in a fun and inviting way. Choreographed dances performed by family members and a dhol player were just a few of the traditional elements they included, while table names that said love in one of the 30 languages their family and friends spoke were a nod to the diversity that made up their guest list.

The couple remembers some of their favorite moments as taking pictures together as husband and wife, watching their parents dance the night away without a care in the world, and ordering pizza right before the ceremony for the entire wedding party and stuffing their faces as fast as they could. It was a night uniquely them, and one they will never forget.
